In archeological sites is very important to have as much information without destructive consequences and cost effective. Geophysical methods of surveying provide just that. Thanks to geophysical methods, it is possible to detect the underground presence of structures such as walls, foundations, floors, roads, kilns, hearths, tombs, graves, pits cavities, mounds and filled ditches. Geophysical methods allow to draw an "archaeological map" of the underground. This mapping has a double function: it indicates to archaeologists the exact location where excavation has to be made, and it can provide the criteria for proper land planning.
