Buried utility and objects can be a problem when the exact location under the surface is lost. With geophysical methods we can detect and map them very exactly. Most of the locating equipment is operating through the principles of electromagnetism, design to detect electrically conductive materials.
This application has developed, especially, to back up engineering projects planning that will be developed in locations where the subsurface can contain different types of objects and active or deactivated utilities. Early detection of electrical cables or active pipes can reduce the risk of unforeseen work interruption and thus minimizing the risk of damages.
In areas with high probability of unexploded bomb buried in the ground (old industrial platforms, airports), it is preferable to have a geophysical surveying destined for this matter before starting excavations. In this way any potential hazardous locations can be detected and any unnecessary risk eliminated.
